Welcome to Rowing
in
Brunswick, Maine.
Merrymeeting Community Rowing
Association (MCRA) is doing business as a part of
Portland Community Rowing Association, a 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization, focused on
providing instruction in the sport of both sweep rowing and sculling to youths and adults in
the Brunswick and Portland,
Maine areas.
Currently, MCRA has a facility at the Water Street boat ramp in Brunswick.
Our fleet consists
of three coaxed fours, two doubles and three single sculls. We also offer rack space for singles.
The site offers about 3000m of
excellent water alongside the walking path, and good access to
Merrymeeting Bay. Many say this is the
best spot to row in Maine.
The MCRA's primary purpose is to further the sport of rowing in the greater Brunswick area through
focused coached instruction that
spans the experience spectrum from Learn-to-Row and Novice to
Experienced Programs. We enjoyed the talents of three very experienced coaches
during the
2012 season and successfully trained over 75 rowers. We look forward to an even larger and more
successful 2013 season. Come Row with Us!
